How Fares Are Calculated
- Journeys under 3km or 1 zone: AED 3 (Silver Nol)
- 2 zones: AED 5 (Silver Nol)
- 3+ zones: AED 7.5 (Silver Nol)
- Tram rides: flat AED 3
- Daily fare capped at AED 14 (Silver/Blue Nol)
Dubai Metro Zones
- Zone 1: Covers the Expo 2020 extension area, including key Red Line stations such as Expo 2020, Dubai Investment Park (DIP), Danube, Energy, UAE Exchange, and surrounding development zones in the southwestern outskirts of Dubai.
- Zone 2: Includes western neighborhoods along the Red Line like Ibn Battuta, The Gardens, Discovery Gardens, Al Furjan, Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), and ONPASSIVE. This zone connects new residential hubs with older parts of the city.
- Zone 3: Primarily includes Jumeirah Golf Estates and nearby areas along the Route 2020 branch. A quieter zone with limited but important transit points.
- Zone 4: Spans key mid-city neighborhoods such as Dubai Internet City, Al Barsha, Mashreq, and Mall of the Emirates. This area serves commercial and residential zones in the heart of Western Dubai.
- Zone 5: Covers the eastern extension of the Red Line including Union, Salah Al Din, Abu Hail, Al Qiyadah, and Centrepoint. This zone connects old Dubai with residential areas like Al Rashidiya.
- Zone 6: Central business and tourism district including Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, Business Bay, Financial Centre, Emirates Towers, and BurJuman. Also includes parts of the Green Line through central Dubai.
- Zone 7: Outermost areas and border zones used primarily for bus and intercity routes. Includes regions near Sharjah, Academic City, and peripheral bus stations not directly connected to metro lines.
Nol Card Types
- Silver Nol Card: Standard travel card. AED 25 (AED 19 credit + AED 6 cost).
- Gold Nol Card: Access to Gold Class cabin. Same price as Silver, fares doubled.
- Blue Nol Card: For students, seniors, and people of determination. AED 70.
- Red Nol Ticket: One-time use. AED 2 + fare. Ideal for tourists.
Daily Fare Cap
Silver and Blue Nol cards are capped at AED 14 per day. After hitting the cap, rides are free until midnight.

- People of Determination: 50% off with Blue Nol card
- Senior Citizens (60+): 50% off with Blue Nol card
